2009 US Open Wheel Championships 014

It has been a crazy month of travel for me and my last event of the 2009 year is the US Open Wheel Championships at Bump and Jumps in PA.  Bumps and Jumps is a beautiful place and ended up being the perfect place to relocate the ever popular USOWC.  The event turned out to be a great success with many spectacular races to crown the champions. Biggest story of the event was the successful use of the bump up system by Mike Dibb. He had terrible luck in qualifying and qualified in the I main. Yes I main. But with great driving and a bit of good fortune, he was able to make it all the way up to the A main. Unfortunatly his luck ran out in the A but it was a victory in itself bumping his way to the A main.  Great Job by Dyno Tech’s Mike Dibb.  Also great job by Rob Cutman from Custom Works/Truespeed for putting the whole event together and making sure everyone had a great time.  This was by far the most difficult event I have ever had to do. 509 Entires.  78 mains on finals days, but when all was said an done.  We finished on time. I did not loose my voice and gave all I could to make each main as exciting as possible. As I look back on the event,  I think each and every racer had a good time and is looking forward to next years event.

Time Zone Grand Prix

This weekend I am in Battleground Washington about 20 min. outside of Portland to announce the Time Zone Grand Prix. Time Zone is the dream of Mark Day and crew. it is a beautiful place built on Mark’s home property. it has drawn racers from throughout the Northwest.  This is the first annual TZGP and there is no doubt in my mind that this will grown to be the carpet race to attend in this part of the US.  I will try to do a couple of updates throughout the weekend and post some pictures of this beautiful facility.

That is the question I am faced with as I undertake a new task in my life. For years I have depended on others to keep things updated in my life with regards to websites.   So I have taken on the challenge to try and tackle this myself.

I am very blessed and fortunate that I have the opportunity to travel around the world to be part of RC events and I have always wanted to catalog my travels and experience and share them with other racers.  My hope is that with this website I will be able to do that.  Of course I have to learn to crawl before I can walk so it will be slow going for a while as I learn all this new stuff, but I hope you will enjoy what I can show you from past events and trips and I will try to stay current and keep things updated as the fall and winter season is in full swing.  Thanks

On the sound of the tone.
